The Minneapolis Seward neigborhood is located to the east of Hiawatha Avenue. The bordering neighborhoods are the following: Cedar-Riverside, Cooper, East Phillips, Longfellow, Ventura Village, and also directly across the Mississippi River to the east is Prospect Park/East River Road.

Seward’s history

In 1919, the first cooperative in Seward called Franklin Cooperative Creamery was formed. It was a major milestone in the history of the neighborhood.  The Seward Community Co-op grocery is another old institution (in operation since 1972).
